| SUBJECT: | Graduate Assistant Tuition Remission Recovery Rate for Fiscal Year 1996-97 Will Continue at 25% |
The current Graduate Assistant Tuition Remission Recovery Rate of 25% will remain in effect for fiscal year 1996-97. This rate is charged against all graduate assistant stipends paid from Federal and Nondirect Federal funds. Principal Investigators should continue using the 25% tuition remission recovery rate on all Federal and Nondirect Federal extramural applications, including revised budgets.
The Principal Investigator Committee has recommended a number of changes to Dean Virginia Hinshaw regarding the recovery of Graduate Assistant Remissions. These and other changes are currently under review, and information about them will be announced by Dean Hinshaw in the near future.
Deans' and Departmental Offices should update Appendix 18 of the "Extramural Support Guidelines" by inserting a copy of this memo. If you have any questions, please call Robert Andresen, Assistant Director at 608-262-2896.
