Federal Government Shutdown

The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (RSP) is closely monitoring the budget situation in Washington, D.C. and we are working diligently to determine the most appropriate response should the Federal government shutdown. Impacts to application submission, award processing, no-cost extensions, and other tasks that require federal sponsor interaction are being assessed. Our commitment to help campus navigate sponsored programs administration is unchanged. We will continue to provide guidance as clearly and timely as possible.

January 17th, 2018

Congress has until 11:59pm (EST) on January 19th to pass legislation to fund the government. RSP is monitoring the situation and posting updates as we have them.

December 20th, 2017

Congress has until 11:59 pm (EST) on December 22nd to pass legislation to fund the government. RSP will be monitoring the situation and posting updates as we have them.

December 7th, 2017

At this time, congress has until 11:59 pm (EST) on December 8th to pass legislation to fund the government. On December 4th the Office of Management and Budget notified all federal agencies they should begin preparing for a lapse in appropriations.
