| SUBJECT: | Revised "Extramural Support Transmittal Form" |
The Graduate School's Technology Transfer Committee has recently reviewed the Extramural Support Transmittal Form (T-form). Specifically, this Committee focused attention on the "Intellectual Property Agreement" section on Page 2.
Changes to this section were recommended to the Graduate School because of indications that the T-form should have specific language requiring researchers to assign title, if required, to the University's designated patent management organization - the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). This revised T-form version (UW Form 2003-2) includes that specific language.
Please note that this revision to the T-form language does not change the obligations of the researcher, but is important to prevent the unnecessary allocation of limited resources to respond to law suits challenging UW-Madison's rights to execute its obligations under Bayh-Dole and other sponsored research agreements.
The revised version of the T-form is now available at Research and Sponsored
Program's (RSP) home page under the "Forms" section or directly at: http://www.rsp.wisc.edu/forms/tform2003-2.pdf
Please discontinue immediately the use of all previous versions of
the Extramural Support Transmittal Form (T-form).
